One of Our Favorite Sounds..

....is the sound of an ice cream truck! It's just not summer without the ice cream truck coming down your street just as you're about to serve dinner! At least tonite it was after we were finished! I heard rumors there was an ice cream truck that comes through the neighborhood, but somehow we just kept missing it. Tonite I was in the garage going through some boxes of books (that I have nowhere to store inside...wah I miss my built ins!) and I heard the unmistakable tune of the ice cream truck in the distance. I opened the door into the house and yelled "ICE CREAM TRUCK!" and three very excited sugar addicts came bounding out of the house to the sidewalk. Maybe I should try yelling that the next time I need them to do a chore! Anyway, he was still around the corner and I think the kids were sure I was teasing them, but all of a sudden the music got louder and there it was...the almighty purveyor of Sponge Bob Popsicles, the Chocolate Chip Cookie Ice Cream Sandwich (my personal favorite..and Jonah's!) and the Chocolate Eclair bar! All is well in Greyhawk Landing tonite!

What a good mom you are! I try to keep them inside so they don't hear the dang ice cream truck. I could buy boxes of all of those treats for the price of one from the ice cream man. aaacckk!

Hey Steph,
I found your blog through Jen's. I didn't know you when you lived here...but we go to LifePoint, and my hubby, Brian & I knew Isabella. We taught K/1 Large group. Ask her if she remembers Ms. Kathi & Mr. Brian. I remember calling her up on stage this Spring to say a special goodbye before you guys moved.

Anyway, just wanted to say hi. Florida life looks wonderful! In fact you're making me want to move. Did you guys move because of jobs? Just curious.

Please check out my blog if you want.....nice to "meet" you.

hi kathi!
I'm sure Isabella remembers you because she talked about being on stage before we left! we've always wanted to move south and fell in love with the gulf coast a few years ago. we decided to wait until our four oldest children were out of high school because taking them away from their friends would have resulted in WWIII! we started seriously talking about coming here right before christmas, bruce got a job in Tampa (and the company was based in MD, which he didn't know when he applied, but he was able to work at that office until we moved). we took a leap of faith and bought a house here, closed on our house in MD two weeks before we had to make our first mortgage payment here. we felt pretty sure that God wanted us here! the hardest part (besides leaving our dear friends, the VeStrands) has been leaving Lifepoint...and comparing every church we visit to them! maybe I'll meet you in October..I'm coming back for the womens retreat!
thanks for visiting my blog! not nearly as much fun as Jen's though :)

Oh, we missed it again! I better not mention it to the girls. I had the puppy dog eyes the last time. Hopefully it will make its way around the neighborhood again soon.
